The Mares Icon HD brings high definition graphics to high performance features. Its screen is made using LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) with TFT (Thin Film Transistor) technology. The colour is phenomenal and totally unnecessary, but it looks fantastic!
The over sized screen means features such as the electronic compass are hugely visual, and clear. Switching between your dive interface, and compass is simple, and made easy by the four big metal buttons on the bottom of the unit.
The map function offers colourful topographic maps of your dive sites. The interface is like that of a mobile phone, and super easy to use. You can even store photos on it! Again, it’s a completely unnecessary feature, but when you arrive at your dive boat and show your mates they will be green with envy ! The Mares Icon HD dive computer offers loads of settings that are simple to customise, but perhaps one of the coolest features is the live graphics display of your dive profile that you can see whilst in ‘Dive’ mode, so you can check your dive profile, and make adjustments to things like your safety stop accordingly.
The computer has all the standard functionality you would expect from a high performance piece of kit, little touches like a built in security code are also innovative.
